We use Square to process credit cards and our terminal can accept Visa, Masterard, American Express, Discover, and contactless payment methods like Apple Pay.
Have a paper gift card that you'd like to use on our website? Upon checkout, ignore the Gift Card field and simply select “other” as payment and put your gift card number in the comments section. For purchases above your gift card amount, we'll email a simple invoice for the difference.
Have a digital gift card that you purchased through our website and want to use it in person? Just have your confirmation email/gift card code available when you're ready to check out.

We want your gently used books! Our walk in buyback hours are Tuesdays from 1p to 6p. During this window, you can bring in up to 3 boxes/bags of books for us to look through. Otherwise, feel free to drop off up to 3 boxes/bags of books anytime we're open and we'll turn them around in 48 hours.
We're selective in what we take in, but if you like to buy books at Letters we'll most likely be interested in what you have (if it's in good condition and fits our current needs). We specialize in gently used paperback books. Fiction is our largest section (especially contemporary and literary fiction), but we look for popular and intriguing books in all genres (history, science, religion, philosophy, biography, etc.).
We don’t buy advance reader copies (ARCs), textbooks, Bibles, dictionaries, mass market paperbacks, Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines, or former library books. We don’t typically buy hardcover books that are more than 2 years old--they take up more shelf space and cheaper paperback editions are likely available at that point. Exceptions to this rule include cookbooks, North Carolina nonfiction, art books, and other hardcover books with a smaller than average trim size.
We offer up to 33% of our projected sale price in store credit.
